About Raffles Medical Ho Chi Minh City
A relocated outpatient clinic with several services under one roof
Raffles Medical Ho Chi Minh City is a licensed multidisciplinary clinic at 285B Dien Bien Phu Street, Xuan Hoa Ward. It moved to this address in February 2024, so older references to Nam Ky Khoi Nghia should not be used for navigation. The facility is an outpatient clinic rather than a full tertiary hospital, although it has an urgent-care and short-observation capability and can coordinate care elsewhere when a test or treatment is not available on site.
Its published clinical scope includes family medicine, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, ear, nose and throat care, minor surgical work, diagnostic imaging and laboratory testing. This breadth can be practical for expatriate households seeking one contact point for routine illness, a child’s consultation, vaccinations or a health check. It does not mean that every specialist or diagnostic service is present during every opening period, so the department and clinician should be confirmed when booking.
What can be completed at Dien Bien Phu
Paediatric services cover newborns through adolescents and include vaccination advice and administration. Women’s health services include gynaecological assessment, obstetric consultations and pregnancy management. The ENT department sees both children and adults. The clinic also lists wound care, minor procedures and management of small fractures within its surgical scope.
On-site imaging comprises X-ray, mammography and ultrasound. Raffles explains that patients needing CT, MRI or gastrointestinal endoscopy may be booked and transported to a partner facility, an important distinction for anyone expecting a single-site diagnostic visit. Its laboratory scope includes haematology, biochemistry, microbiology and immunology. Ask whether samples can be taken at the booked time, whether fasting is required and how results will be delivered. For a broader explanation of private clinics, hospitals and referral routes, see the guide to Vietnam’s healthcare system.
Booking the correct service and confirming its hours
The main number is +84 28 3824 0777 and the front-desk email is frontdesk_hcmc@rafflesmedical.com. Online appointments should normally be requested at least 24 hours ahead; the appointment page tells patients with same-day or urgent needs to telephone. It also offers a teleconsultation request, but the time, doctor, suitability and fee remain subject to confirmation.
The provider currently publishes different schedules on different official pages. Its general location pages show Monday–Friday 08:00–18:00 and weekend hours, while the specialist-services page gives Monday–Friday 08:00–22:00 and Saturday 08:00–12:00. Health-check departments publish a separate weekday schedule. Because these cannot safely be treated as one universal timetable, confirm the hours for the exact department rather than relying on a generic listing—especially for Sunday, evening or urgent attendance.
Practical preparation for expatriates and travelling families
Bring a passport or other identification, a medication list, allergy information and relevant reports or images. Parents should carry the child’s vaccination record and previous paediatric notes. Patients booking pregnancy care should bring antenatal records and earlier ultrasound or laboratory results. A concise written timeline can help when medical history has been recorded in another country or language.
Raffles also publishes annual, corporate, school-enrolment, visa, offshore and work-permit health checks. These are administrative packages with their own document and preparation rules, not ordinary consultations. For a work-permit examination, the clinic instructs applicants to bring a passport, prescription glasses or contact lenses, relevant medical records and three 4×6 cm photographs with a white background, and to fast for at least eight hours while allowing water. Confirm the current document list before attending; Vietnam Clinic’s work-permit health-check guide explains the wider process.
English and Japanese access is specifically supported through provider materials and named language contacts, alongside Vietnamese. Nevertheless, language availability can depend on the doctor and shift. State the required language during booking and request written confirmation if an interpreter or particular clinician is essential. The separate Raffles expatriate service located inside American International Hospital is at 199 Nguyen Hoang Street and should not be confused with this Dien Bien Phu clinic.
Insurance, direct billing and urgent-care limits
Raffles works with local and international insurers and describes cashless direct billing, but a logo on an insurer list does not prove that a particular policy, treatment or doctor is covered. The provider notes that direct billing may require a guarantee of payment and a credit-card authorisation form, and that the patient remains responsible until the insurer settles the account. Ask the clinic to verify eligibility before non-urgent care and check exclusions, excesses and pre-authorisation with the insurer. The guide to cashless health insurance in Vietnam covers these steps in more detail.
The clinic publishes first aid for minor injuries, minor procedures and short-term observation. Those services should not be interpreted as a promise that every emergency can be managed there. Chest pain, stroke symptoms, severe breathing difficulty, major trauma, uncontrolled bleeding, seizures or loss of consciousness require immediate emergency assistance and may need a hospital with full inpatient, surgical and intensive-care resources. Telephone ahead when feasible so staff can advise whether to attend the clinic or go directly to an appropriate emergency department.
