About Tam Anh General Hospital Ho Chi Minh City

Three Tam Anh access points in Ho Chi Minh City

Tam Anh's Ho Chi Minh City network includes two hospitals and one outpatient clinic. The original Tam Anh General Hospital HCMC at 2B Pho Quang provides outpatient, inpatient and emergency care. Tam Anh General Hospital District 8 at 316C Pham Hung is a second hospital facility, while Tam Anh General Clinic District 7 at Sunrise City, 25 Nguyen Huu Tho functions as a multispecialty clinic. Choosing the correct site matters because not every doctor, diagnostic service or procedure is available at every address.

All three HCMC locations use the central numbers 028 7102 6789 and 093 180 6858, and the customer-service email cskh@tahospital.vn. The main Pho Quang hospital and District 7 clinic publish routine hours of 06:00–16:00 Monday to Saturday, selected evening clinics until 19:00 and selected Sunday clinics from 06:30–12:00. District 8 lists 07:00–16:00 Monday to Saturday with selected specialties until 18:00. The system labels emergency service as available 24/7, but a patient should confirm which hospital is best equipped for the immediate problem rather than assume that an ordinary clinic appointment remains available overnight.

For comparison with other large providers, expatriates can consult the international hospital guide for Ho Chi Minh City.

Clinical scope and choosing a department

Tam Anh maintains a broad hospital specialty directory. It includes cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, cardiology, gastroenterology and hepatology, digestive endoscopy, general surgery, neurology, neurosurgery and spine care, ophthalmology, paediatrics and paediatric surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, reproductive medicine, oncology and radiotherapy, orthopaedics, urology, respiratory medicine and diagnostic services. Availability depends on the site, physician schedule and type of care required.

Someone with a defined diagnosis can request the relevant specialist when booking. Patients with multiple symptoms or no clear diagnosis may be better served by an initial general or internal-medicine assessment. Previous laboratory reports, imaging, discharge summaries, prescriptions and a current medication list can help the doctor see what has already been investigated. International patients should ask whether the chosen clinician can consult in English or whether an interpreter is available; the hospital's general customer pages do not promise English-language consultation across every department.

Online appointment registration is intended for planned care, not emergencies. Severe chest pain, stroke warning signs, major trauma, difficulty breathing, loss of consciousness, heavy bleeding or another rapidly deteriorating condition requires urgent assistance. Vietnam Clinic's guide to emergency numbers in Vietnam explains the national emergency-call context.

Preparing for outpatient care

Tam Anh's booking and customer portal allows patients to register an appointment, look up laboratory or treatment results and access electronic health-record information. When requesting a slot, specify the HCMC facility, specialty, preferred doctor if applicable and reason for the visit. Selected departments operate outside the standard daytime schedule, but evening and Sunday availability is not universal. Confirmation is therefore more reliable than arriving solely from the general opening hours.

Bring a passport or other accepted identification, insurance card, referral or guarantee paperwork where required, and relevant medical records. Ask whether a test needs fasting, medication changes or earlier arrival. A patient should never stop anticoagulants, diabetes medicine or other prescriptions without instructions from the treating clinician. For imaging or procedures involving contrast, sedation or anaesthesia, disclose allergies, kidney disease, pregnancy possibility and previous reactions.

The hospital publishes reference price lists, but it notes that actual charges follow the tariff in force when care is delivered. Doctor level, appointment time, tests, medicines, supplies, room choice and procedures can all affect the final bill. A written estimate is most useful when it states what is included and what could be added after assessment.

Insurance, direct billing and deposits

Tam Anh describes both reimbursement and direct-billing pathways. Direct billing applies only when the insurer has an agreement with the hospital and authorises the relevant care. The hospital's customer page displays several Vietnamese and international insurance or assistance partners, but a logo does not prove that every policy, department or treatment is eligible. Patients must confirm benefits with both the insurer and hospital before relying on cashless settlement.

For an insurance request, the published process asks for the insurance card and identification, along with clinical and cost documentation. During outpatient care, patients may initially have to pay or deposit for consultations, tests and imaging while the guarantee is reviewed; approved amounts can then be reconciled, and excluded costs remain payable by the patient. Reimbursement claims may require the medical summary, prescription, test orders and results, itemised costs and invoice. Our guide to direct billing in Vietnam explains why insurer pre-authorisation and hospital billing approval are separate steps.

For admission, Tam Anh asks patients to present identification, a private-insurance card if applicable and relevant medical records. An advance hospital deposit is required before admission, and the final amount may differ with the diagnosis, treatment, medicines and supplies used. Foreign patients should ask in advance which documents can be issued in English and whether translation carries an additional fee.

Admission, discharge and continuity of care

The hospital accepts medically indicated admissions around the clock. Admission does not mean the room can be occupied indefinitely at the quoted daily rate: Tam Anh states that room check-in and checkout are calculated around 12:00, with possible time-based surcharges outside that schedule. Patients or accompanying relatives should clarify room category, companion arrangements, visiting rules and any deposit increase during a longer stay.

At discharge, the hospital lists documents including the discharge medical report, laboratory results, diagnostic-imaging results, itemised cost statement, receipts, discharge certificate and prescription where applicable. International residents should check names, passport details, diagnosis and dates before leaving, since corrections can be harder after travel. Request digital or printed imaging and the operative note when another doctor will provide follow-up.

The system's electronic record and result-lookup tools can support continuity across Tam Anh facilities, but patients should keep their own copies. A record stored in one hospital network may not be visible to an outside clinic or an overseas insurer. Asking who will review pending pathology or laboratory results, when follow-up is due and what symptoms require an earlier return prevents gaps after discharge.

Practical distinctions for expatriates and travellers

The Pho Quang hospital, District 8 hospital and District 7 clinic are in different parts of a large city. Traffic can make travel time more important than straight-line distance, particularly for morning appointments. Confirm the address in Vietnamese and the building or entrance before setting off. District 7 is a clinic within Sunrise City rather than the same type of inpatient facility as the two hospitals.

Language support should be arranged explicitly. The hospital publishes Vietnamese customer guidance and some services for translating diagnostic-imaging results into English, but this does not establish that every consultation, consent form or discharge discussion is routinely provided in English. A medically competent interpreter is preferable to relying on a child, driver or automated translation for consent and complex decisions.

Tam Anh is a large multidisciplinary system, but the most suitable site depends on urgency, specialty, insurance arrangements and the need for inpatient resources. This profile describes verified access and administrative information; it does not recommend a particular doctor or guarantee that a service will be available at the requested time.

This profile summarizes attributable information published by the provider. Inclusion is not a recommendation or guarantee of quality, availability or outcomes.
